Memorial Day is one of the best holidays of the year. As the official kick-off to the much-anticipated summer season, there’s lots of things to do around the Jupiter-Palm Beach area during Memorial Day Weekend, from hosting an outdoor barbecue for friends and family to honoring the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedom.

So, if you won’t be traveling during this year’s Memorial Day events and festivities, here’s a look at just some of what’s happening this weekend around Jupiter and Palm Beach County:

Memorial Day Concert - Saturday May 23, 8:00 p.m.

Kick off the weekend right by making your way over to the Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State to watch three fabulous artists come together and present "We Will Never Forget"— a musical salute to veterans and fallen soldiers who have served our country. Tickets are $20 and can be purchases at the Eissey Campus Theatre Ticket Office.

Harbourside Salute to Veterans on Memorial Day - Sunday, May 24, 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Harbourside, Jupiter’s newest shopping destination, will be hosting their first ever salute to Veterans on Memorial Day which will include fun-filled family activities, a commemoration ceremony, and a free waterfront concert. The event starts at 12 p.m., which the ceremony begins shortly after at 2 p.m.

Wellington Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony - Monday, May 25, 8:15 to 9:15 a.m.

Hosted by the city of Wellington and the American Legion Chris Reyka Memorial Wellington Post 390, there’s no better way to honor our fallen heroes here in the Palm Beach area than to take in the annual Wellington Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony. Beginning at the Wellington Community Center at 12150 Forest Hill Boulevard and ending at the Wellington Veterans Memorial at Forest Hill and South Short Boulevard, the parades starts at 8:15 a.m. Monday morning and usually runs for about an hour.

Memorial Day Concert, “An American Tribute” - Monday May 25, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Can't make it to the concert on Saturday? Swing over to Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton for patriotic music by the same lineup—New Gardens Band, The Indian River Pops and Robert Sharon Chorale. Food and beverages will be available for purchase and the concert begins at 7 p.m. and should wrap up around 9 p.m.
