A List of Things to do in August Around Jupiter, FL
Now that the month of July is winding down here in Jupiter, Florida and the dog-days of summer are in full swing, it’s almost time to start thinking back-to-school preparation and the always anticipated football season. But before we officially switch our schedules over to “fall-mode,” there’s still plenty of great Jupiter, FL & Palm Beach, FL events to take in throughout the month of August. Check out our list of Jupiter Events in August 2012 below:
1) Loggerhead Triathlon in Jupiter, Florida-August 4, 2012, 7 a.m.-10 a.m. – As one of the largest enduring triathlon events in all of Florida and dating all the way back to 1985, the Loggerhead Triathlon tests participants with a 3/8 mile ocean swim, a 13 mile bike ride, and a flat 3.1 mile run. This year’s Loggerhead Triathlon is presented by the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and although the event is sold out, be sure to still stop by to cheer on all the athletes and enjoy a great family atmosphere! Good luck to all of this year’s athletes!
2) Hike Through History in Jupiter, Florida-August 4, 2012, 8a.m.-10a.m. – Learn about Jupiter’s natural history, geography, and topography during a 2 mile hike through the 120 acres of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. The tour will depart from the flag pole at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum and will last approximately 2 hours. Best of all, the Hike Through History event is free, but space is limited, so RSVP today!
3) Summer Market Nights in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida- Thursday August 2nd, August 9th, and August 16th , 5:30 p.m.-9 p.m. – Summer Market Nights in Palm Beach Gardens is a new event this year that started all the way back in May. Every Thursday night, the city of Palm Beach Gardens invites locals, visitors, and passerby’s to enjoy great live music and loads of vendors selling food, drinks, plants, flowers, produce, crafts, and more! If you haven’t checked out Summer Market Nights in Palm Beach Gardens yet, there’s still several dates left, including 3 in August. See you all there!
4) Jason Aldean w/ Luke Bryan in West Palm Beach, Florida-Saturday August 11th, 7:30 p.m. – Catch one of today’s hottest country music artists in Jason Aldean at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on Saturday August 11th. Of course the event is sold out, but plenty of tickets remain on secondary ticket websites.
5) Lighthouse Blue Moon Tour in Jupiter, Florida – Friday August 31, 2012, 7:15 p.m.- Don’t miss a spectacular view of the 2nd full moon in August at Jupiter’s landmark Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum. Get a tour of the lighthouse and take in the best view around of Jupiter’s glowing night sky. The tour lasts 75 minutes, with ticket costs being $15 for lighthouse and musesum members and $20 for non-members.
