Best Places to Go for a Run in Jupiter
When it comes to outdoor recreation in Jupiter, there’s plenty of it to choose from. Whether you’re an avid runner that lives for your daily run, or simply want to get away from it all off the beaten track, you’ll find plenty of options in South Florida.
With its northern Palm Beach County location, Jupiter allows for ocean views, plus scenic nature preserves and even views of the North Everglades Natural Area. It’s no wonder that runners delight in the fantastic year-round weather, and scenic surroundings.
If you want to get away from the day-to-day grind, lose yourself running within Jupiter’s famed Riverbend Park. With nearly 10 miles of rugged terrain, old Florida comes to life before your eyes. You’ll find yourself running alongside the Loxahatchee River and by the historic Loxahatchee Battlefield. When you need to catch your breath for a moment, take a moment to view the native wildlife or make a quick stop at the Cracker Farmstead.
There’s also Carlin Park, a one and a half mile trail with views of the ocean. If you need a break, stop at one of the various heart stations for a round of stretching or some cardio along the way.
One of the newest options for runners is the Jupiter-Indiantown Trail. This historic trail began construction just a few years ago. While you’ll likely share the trail with bikers and even equestrians, it’s a unique location in Jupiter, with a natural setting and historic charm.
If you want a more organized run, with plenty of friends to help motivate you along the way, there’s always the opportunity to join one of the area’s running clubs like the Palm Beach Roadrunners. As well, you’ll find several runs throughout the year in Jupiter and the surrounding areas, like the Classics by the Sea, held in December. This run offers a 5K, 10K, plus a kids one-mile run.
In February, you’ll find the annual Riverbend 5K Green Run, benefiting Jupiter High School. Then in April, the Run Like a Warrior 5K, starting and finishing at the school. The month of May brings the Turtle Trot 5K Run, along with a fun run for the kids.
