Current and Upcoming Exhibitions at the Lighthouse ArtCenter in Jupiter

Part museum, part art school, there is a lot happening at the Lighthouse ArtCenter in Jupiter this fall.  In fact, the region’s largest and oldest visual arts organization is planning for a range of exhibitions throughout October and November.  Here’s a look at some of the current and upcoming plans:

Faculty Exhibition - Through October 24

From now through October 24, visitors have the opportunity to come to the Lighthouse ArtCenter to meet the faculty as well as new instructors.  If you’ve ever wished to learn their methods and techniques, or are simply inspired to take some classes, now is the time to visit.

Ceramics Exhibition - Through October 24

Running throughout the same period of time, be sure to come out for the ceramics exhibition.  This is an opportunity to see the techniques and styles that visiting ceramics artists will teach during some of the upcoming Master Workshops.

D’Art for Art Exhibition - November 1-7

The first week of November offers a unique opportunity to view donated works of arts in the D’Art for Art Exhibition.  Artists will be donating original works of art to help support ArtCenter programs.  These donated works are judged and will be on display for seven days leading up to the fundraiser event.  An appreciation party and collector’s preview for the donating artists is planned for the evening of Sunday, November 1.

Two Centuries of American Art: Manoogian Collection - November 19-March 5

Finally, mid November provides the first opportunity to view Two Centuries of American Art.  The Manoogian Collection is considered one of the most important private collections of American artwork compiled during the 20th century.  During this time, visitors will have the chance to view a 19th and 20th century exhibition of American paintings.  The artwork has once been displayed at such prominent locations as the National Gallery of Art, the White House and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.  During this time, visitors can expect docent-led tours, lectures and special educational programs just for kids.  An opening reception will be held on opening night, with another reception and lecture planned for December 17.  The exhibition runs through early March 2016.
