A $1 Billion impact on Palm Beach County's Industry

 

Recently it was announced that Palm Beach County will be getting a new development project along Seminole Pratt and Whitney Road in the Acreage. 

The project is being touted as the new downtown of Central Palm Beach County. The project will consist of 4,546 homes, 2.1 million square feet of commercial property, a 3,000-student university, and a hotel consisting of 150 units, which would be built on 3800 acres north of Okeechobee Boulevard. 

One of the most exciting aspects of this new development project will be the thousands of jobs that will also come with the development project over the next two decades and should have an impact of one billion dollars. 

Supporters of the project are saying that this is the type of planned growth that this area needs, stating that this type of project will create a much needed economic jolt to the area. Opponents of the project are worried about the traffic and congestion that the project might bring. The project's opponents are also worried about how the new development project will threaten the environment, arguing that the project will kill the pastoral lifestyle that so many are accustomed to in the acreage. 

Regardless of what the outcome is, the project is guaranteed to be a revenue generator for the area.
