Massive Palm Beach Gardens Master Plan Presented to Local Media

Palm Beach Gardens New DevelopmentWe’ve all heard the expression “Everything is bigger in Texas,” but when it comes to real estate in southeastern Florida, there isn’t anything bigger than a proposed development that’s being discussed for a 7-square-mile piece of property in western Palm Beach Gardens. If you thought Jupiter’s distinguished and prominent Abacoa housing community was impressive in both magnitude and property value, consider a new development that would be three times its size and hold approximately 7,600 homes—a number that easily trumps Abacoa’s right to build 5,743 homes.

The Master Plan that was exclusively presented to the Palm Beach Post late last month could occupy up to 20,000 residents and include a number of new park spaces, new man-made waterways with football-field width, a 4,000-student Keiser University branch campus, a pediatrics facility, and plenty of additional retail space.

Of the 7,600 new residential units, 5,100 would be single-family homes, while the remaining 2,500 would mainly consists of new state-of-the-art townhome units. The property itself, which is known as the expansive Vavrus Ranch property off Northlake Blvd, is said to be essential for flood protection, and according to many environmentalists in the area, to cross well-documented and well-protected Florida wetlands. So whether Palm Beach County’s largest development to-date is an unattainable vision or an inevitable reality, it’s certainly fun to think about if you’re a real estate agent looking for the next big thing to hit the local Palm Beach County market.
