New Marina District in Riviera Beach Rolls On
As the early part of 2014 rolls by, construction for the $300 million redevelopment of the 10-block Marina District in Riviera Beach continues and we can finally begin to look forward to the construction of the new Newcomb Hall and Public Market phase of the project, which would include a rebuilt version of the community center, a grand meeting hall, a visitor’s center and retail space for shops and cafés. The highly publicized Marina District project in Riviera Beach aims to attract more visitors to the area and rival similar tourist hot spots like downtown West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens and Delray Beach.
For years, Riviera Beach has been riddled with crime and poverty and an expansive waterfront district full of shopping, restaurants, apartments, and even a hotel is exactly what this part of Palm Beach County needs. Other components to the Marina District project include 150 new boat slips, reconstruction of Bicentennial; Park, public plazas, a permanent public market and additional office/retails/hotel/and residential space. The new Marina District in Riviera Beach is expected to hold it's Grand Opening sometime in 2015.
