Baseball and Brews at Roger Dean Stadium

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, swing over to Roger Dean Stadium tomorrow for one of the venue’s coolest events of the baseball season. Now in its 5th year, the annual Baseball and Brews night is happening as the Jupiter Hammerheads take on the Brevard County Manatees at 5:35 p.m.

With the craft beer scene taking off in recent years, the marketing and promotions department for the Hammerheads thought combining two timeless American classics like beer and baseball couldn’t make for a better night at the ballpark, and frankly, we couldn’t agree more.

Local breweries like Twisted Trunk, Saltwater Brewery, and the Tequesta Brewing Company will be on hand offering samples to this in attendance, while the festival also features a hot

New Construction Homes For Sale in Palm Beach Florida
New home sales are down, yet still well above the levels we saw this time last year.  According to a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau, new home sales fell nearly seven percent in the month of June to the lowest levels seen over the past seven months.  Even with the drop, though, sales remained about 18 percent higher than last year.  When seasonally adjusted, the annual rate of new home sales came in at 482,000.

When comparing June with May, new home sales dropped the most in the West, followed by the Midwest and South, but rose about 28 percent in the Northeast.  While the median sale price of new houses was up marginally from the prior month at $281,800, prices remained below June 2014 median sale prices.  The average sale price for new homes in

Craft Beer Bash Palm Beach Gardens

Despite July rapidly coming to a close and “back to school” season being right around the corner, summer is far from over here in South Florida, with plenty of fun-filled events and festivals still on the horizon in the coming weeks.

In just over a week, the renowned Palm Beach Gardens resort and spa will be hosting its annual Craft Beer Bash, which aims to showcase over 120 different brews from local and regional breweries like Tequesta Brewing Company, Due South Brewing Co., and Funky Budda Brewery.

Although in the past the Craft Beer Bash in Palm Beach Gardens also featured a burger competition as well, this year, that portion of the event was dropped, partly because of Chuck Burger Joint—the competition’s reigning champ—has since closed its doors.

Abacoa Mini Golf Course

Recognizing a shortage of fun-filled family entertainment around north Palm Beach County, developers are reportedly tossing around the idea of building a miniature golf course inside Abacoa—Jupiter’s incredible 2,055-acre mixed-use master plan.

Hoping to bring more daytime traffic to the area, FLD ATC LLC purchased 93,000 square feet of commercial property in Abacoa, along with nearly 3 acres of vacant land that could be used for the course.

If approved by the town council, the plan calls for spending around $500,000 to build the 18-hole mini-golf course, which could be open as early as next year.

According to reports, some local businesses have seen a slow down in the area with new restaurants opening along PGA Boulevard and Donald Ross Road, as well

According to RealtyTrac’s Midyear 2015 U.S. Home Sales Report, investor activity seems to be cooling off around the country, with distressed sales, cash sales, and institutional investor sales in June down from year-to-year. Down from 24.7% in May and from nearly 30% in June 2014, all-cash buyers accounted for 22.9% of all single-family home and condo sales last month, making it the lowest level of cash buying since August 2008.

So who’s picking up the slack?

The report is also showing owner-occupant buyers using FHA financing has increased year-to-year, reaching a 2-year high in the second quarter of this year. Excluding cash sales of course, buyer using FHA loans accounted for 23% of all single-family and condo sales over in the 2nd Quarter of 2015,

New Fort Lauderdale Water Park

If you think the Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach is fun, wait until you hear about plans for a new park that’s twice the size, which could soon be on its way to South Florida. The dream of a new Schlitterbahn water park in Fort Lauderdale has been tossed around for years, but every time a deal was in place to move the project forward, issues arose regarding a lease for the land in which the new park will be located, which sits right next door to the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Now, according to reports from the Sun Sentinel, the city and Schlitterhahn are close to a new lease, which would all but seal the deal for an incredible new amenity that should be a big hit among kids living and visiting the entire South Florida region.
