Back in early 2012, an ambitious $3.1 million project got underway in Jupiter to provide kayakers and paddle boarders a unique new sanctuary to visit, ideal for bird watching or simply taking in the lush tropical environment at its most natural state. In short, the massive environmental project involved clearing out all the non-native plants as well as about 60,000 cubic yards of sand from the 11.7 acre Fullerton Island in order to fill part of its interior with shallow water and smaller mangrove and seagrass habitats that allow for quite the wildlife experience.

Turtle Trot 5K Run

Whether you enjoy running or not, make some time to cheer on the running crowd Saturday morning at the 2015 Turtle Trot 5K Run.  The event starts on Marcinski Road and ends near Ocean Cay Park.  In addition to the 5K run, there’s also a one-mile fun run for kids to run alongside local firefighters starting just after 7am.

2015 Jupiter Spring Training Schedule

Although the month of March might often be associated with the madness of the NCAA college basketball tournament, there’s certainly much more going on in the sports than just basketball. Major League Baseball also kicks off its Spring Training season in late-February and early March, and there’s no better place to catch all the action than right here in South Florida.

In Jupiter, we’re lucky enough to welcome two MLB teams to the area during Spring Training—the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins—and regardless of whether or not you’re a baseball fan, there’s nothing quite like the combination of the warm Florida sunshine and some great early season baseball, especially if you’re just visiting from somewhere up north.
